Teaser Tuesday hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
- Please avoid spoilers!
‘The clouds were pink and the meadow larks were singing. This is the country, I thought, half asleep. My dream’s come true and I’m in the country.’~ The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton page 63
‘”I’ve read Amelia’s texts,” Kate said, forcing herself to stay seated, even though all she wanted was to jump up, grab Dylan, and shake her until she admitted to what those girls had done to Amelia and why.’~Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight page 260
Apart from the fact that you have two of my favourite books of all time on your list, I agree that the cover of Loving Frank is sublime. I want a house filled with FLW-inspired glass.
Frank Loyd Wright glass is a stunner. When my mom was younger she knew someone who lived in a Frank Loyd Wright house. Even as a kid she knew it was incredible.
My husband liked "Reconstructing Amelia" but I couldn't get into it because of the language and dark issues. Great teaser though!

Reconstructing Amelia is dark. Although, it keeps me on my toes which I like.
Nice teaser — hope the country is all that she imagines it will be.
I liked Reconstructing Amelia.
When I first read the teaser from The Outsiders I thought it was very whimsical making me want to go to the country as well.
I have had so many people (includinging the commenter above) tell me they liked Reconstucting Amelia and gets me pumped each time I turn on my Kindle.
Great list!!! Love all of those covers :D.

Thank you, I noticed this morning that half of the covers look like they have a backlight/glow on them which made me laugh.
Both snippets are great! I've been really curious about Reconstructing Amelia.
Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Thank you, I'm curious about Amelia myself.

Isn't it? I love the antique look to Loving Frank.
Loving Frank, Book Thief, such great choices! I tend to love any book with books on the cover too!
I am drawn to books with books on the cover. There's something very comfortable about it.
Splintered made my list! It's the only one of yours I've read, but any bibliophile would have to love the cover of The Thirteenth Tale — all those gorgeous old books. Loving Frank is beautiful, too, and immediately identifies "Frank" (at least if you're at all familiar with architectural history.) Great picks!
I think the girl on the cover of Splintered looks a little crazed but the gardening aspect softens it.
I completely agree with Loving Frank identifying FLW, it's as beautiful as his work.
I especially like the teaser from The Outsiders. I loved Hinton's novels when growing up. 🙂

I loved The Outsiders in middle school too. There was something so fresh about it and is beautifully phrased.
I love that cover of Splintered as well, perfect for the book (especially all the bugs!) Nice picks:)

Yes, the bugs make it and they're not creepy caterpillars either!
Splintered made my list too. I love the cover of the 13th tale. So cool. Great list!

Thank you, The Thirteenth Tale reminds me of a used book store which is what I love about it.
