Thursday Tea: The Kitchen Boy

Thursday Tea is a weekly meme hosted by Anastasia at Birdbrain{ed} Book Blog.
The Book:
The Kitchen Boy by Robert Alexander is a historical fiction of the Romanov’s last days in the Ipatiev House seen through the eyes of a kitchen boy.

The Tea:
Good Strong English Tea — That is seriously the name of the tea.  It makes me feel stupid, like I need to be told how good and strong the tea is.  Very much to the point.  But, the description fits it perfectly, as it is good and strong.

Assessment:
Yes, I think they do go together.  Alexandra Fyodorovna, the last of the Tsarinas was the Granddaughter to Queen Victoria and it has been said that Alexandra Fyodorovna’s husband Nicholas II Tsar of Russia supposedly drank two cups of black tea in quick succession each night.

  1. Haha, I thought maybe you were being sarcastic with the tea's name! It IS very to the point, isn't it?

As I was named after Anastasia Romanov I'm pretty interested in this book– would you recommend it?

  2. I wish I was being sarcastic! The name always makes me smile, it's like Tea for Dummies.

That is very cool that you are named after Anastasia Romanov. I would recommend The Kitchen Boy, it is seen through the kitchen boy's eyes (hence the name) and focuses on their confinement in The House Of Special Purpose.
