Off The Blog
This week my nights have been consumed by the DNC. Michelle Obama’s speech was my highlight. You can probably guess which side I lean to based on my blog’s color scheme but whether you’re red or blue I think it is important to be informed. On a less intense note, my sister-in-law and I had a book club meeting to discuss The Empathy Exams. My review for it will be posted in August.

I’d really like to rad more Austen. I’m not sure I’ve even really heard of Lady Susan. Great reading in July!
I have First Impressions sitting on my shelf, I won it in a giveaway. It sounds like you didn’t love it though.
You had a good month, ouch for Winter Garden, but I enjoyed it on audio. Isn’t Michelle O great. I’d be on that party if I lived in the states. DT does not get good press here, and rightly so.
You had a great month! I love M.J. Roses’ books! Happy August!
I read a lot of books from the library too. Love that I don’t have to buy everything I read! I loved Michele Obama’s speech too. So encouraging and inspiring, regardless of which “side” anybody is on. I’m still watching the DNC. I recorded it and have watched it in bits and pieces. I’m on the last night now. 🙂
I thought the DNC was run better and was more hopeful, which counts for a lot. Great speeches too. I didn’t watch all of it but I followed the new pretty closely about it. Now we just have to survive the next three months of the campaign! lol
The Winemakers sounds like a nice read. Have a great week!
I was SO disappointed by First Impressions. I was glad to hear from someone who didn’t like it either! Hope next month holds some nicer surprises…
I have enjoyed MJ Rose’s books, and need to pick more up. Hope your week is amazing!
I love Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books. I could read the series over and over and over and still enjoy them.
