Day 1: Tuesday, 11
- Hello From the Gillespies by Monica McInerney
- Mr. Darcy’s Christmas Carol by Carolyn Eberhart
- Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
- ABC Family plays the movies non-stop from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas Day
- There is always a Christmas scene
- And most importantly, I read them every year around the holidays as they make me happy.
I’m officially starting at 5:30 and reading Mr. Darcy’s Christmas Carol by Carolyn Eberhart, It was a short and cute novella to get the party started. Later tonight I’m going to play Bingo with my parents, aunt and a friend, but I will read as much as I can today.
Stats:
First Book Read: Mr. Darcy’s Christmas Carol by Carolyn Eberhart
My Impression: It was an interesting take on A Christmas Carol but was a little disappointed by how proud they made Darcy and that his father became Marley dressed up in chains — Pride and Prejudice consistently described him as “there wasn’t a better man” (paraphrasing here)
Up Next:
Short books are usually more productive during read-a-thons so I’ll be reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets — even though ABC Family hasn’t started showing them yet.
Days Stats:
Books Read: 1
Books in Progress: 1
Pages Read: 350
Time Read: 5 hours
Day 2: Friday, 7
Second Book Read: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
My Impressions: Still in love with this series and this time around Voldermort’s transformation reminded me a lot of Micheal Jackson’s
Up Next: I’m sticking with Hogwarts and starting Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
