I’m going on another hiatus back up to the Michigan (although technically we’re on the Wisconsin border just an arms reach from the Michigan state line). Anyway, I’ve been going up to that area since I was little and my parents and grandparents (from both sides) before me; thus creating fond memories of making s’mores, fishing, and reading by the lake. For the past ten years my family has been looking for a vacation home in the area, and on our last visit bit the bullet and bought one.
It’s a very modest size, with only one bedroom and loft converted into a sleeping area and a very open floor plan, but it has a wrap-around deck with a view of the lake. I’m leaving to go up there for the first time tomorrow and am super excited!
I’ve been packing on and of all week being very indecisive of what reading materials to take with, I have finally narrowed it down to Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris, The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, and on my Kindle, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, The Abbot’s Ghost and A Modern Mephistopheles by Louisa May Alcott.
I hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend! Bye.
Your vacation home sounds divine! I can picture coffee and a book on that wrap-around deck…
Have a great time!
