Question:
Do you read tie-in novels to movies or television series? If so, which ones?
Answer:
Yes, I really enjoy reading novels that having been adapted to the big screen. I usually stick to the genres I read anyway, dramas and historical fiction. Nine times out of ten I’m disappointed but I still enjoy the hunt and watching every single Jame Austen adaptation in existence.

Beginning:
The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive.

She followed Harry back into the hall and up the stairs, looking up with much curiousity and interest.
My Thoughts
Considering how much happens in this novel the first sentence is a little dull. As for page 56, even though she isn’t named I love Tonks, she is such a vibrant, fun character and was happy to have her join the party.

Ah, Harry Potter. I must reread the series. I’m jealous that you are reading them right now. Is it a reread? My Friday Quotes
Yes, it a reread. I’ve been revisiting the series every year since the first (or maybe the second) book came out.
You can never go wrong with HP! 🙂

That is so true! I love the Harry Potter books so much.
I’m jealous too. That opening quote, though tame appeals to fans, because it mentions Privet Drive! I’m reading Then she was gone by Lisa Jewell.
Happy weekend.
I agree, a mention of Privet Drive is a must for any start to a Harry Potter book.
Enjoy your Potter reread.
Ah, I interpreted today’s question differently from you. I took it to mean novels written based on films and TV shows rather than stories that started as books and became films and series later.
Like you, I do enjoy an Austen adaptation, although some work better than others.
I really need to get back into reading Harry Potter. I stopped after Goblet of Fire ages ago and just ended up watching the movies (shame on me I know). I am curious to listen to the audibooks narrated by Stephen Fry.
Have a good weekend!
I’ve only read the first Harry Potter book, and that’s it! I was in that weird time where the movies were new and popular as well as Percy Jackson. So I ended up watching all the movies, never reading the books, and instead reading Percy Jackson instead. One day I’ll read them!
I think I accidentally did this weeks blogger hop question last week. Alas. I’m on a Harry Potter re-listen, so I loved your beginnings and 56 this week. Tonks is the bomb. Happy reading!
I haven’t read this book since it was released. It might be time for a series re-read. This week I have Just Friends by Tiffany Pitcock. Happy reading!
I may have to read these books someday. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “EMMA IN THE NIGHT”
Several of them start slowly, which may be why she had so much trouble selling the first one. I enjoy re-reading the series every few years. Seems like I get a new meeting each time. Enjoy!
That opening is just how it is here right now. You caught me by surprise that it’s a Harry Potter book. Still haven’t read all of them though I’ve watched all the movies.
Love seeing Harry Potter making the rounds! 🙂 Happy weekend!
