Weekly Prompt:
Q: What is your favorite book with a winter world?
A: I loved The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the never-ending season of winter. True, this added a little eerie stillness to the novel but I think it also enhanced to the fantasy aspect of Narnia. I loved the idea that simply walking through a wardrobe can transport you to different worlds and Lucy’s perspective made everything even more magical.
I liked that aspect of it too. Just the winter imagery and the creepy White Witch, and even the way Lewis included Father Christmas of all things.
Yes, I’ve always thought including Father Christmas was ingenious on Lewis’ part. It also creates a sense of hope which is wonderful too.
I love the winter world of Narnia as well. How can I not what with Father Christmas and the Beavers in their cozy little den.
Mr. and Mrs. Beaver are fabulous characters and I’ve always enjoyed their interactions with the Pevensie children.
I love that book too! Have a great weekend! Old follower.
Thank you!
Great minds think a like….I picked Narnia too.
They most certainly do! Narnia is wonderful.
Narnia is one of my favorite winter series too! Great choice. I’m a Bloglovin’ follower.
My FF post.
I picked this one too – the eternal winter, you can’t go wrong.
You’re the second person to pick Narnia. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it. I need to re-read the Narnia books (actually I never finished the entire series).
I am a horrible person and have never read this book but I have watched the movie! I definitely need to fix that!
Great pick this week!
