She extracted the bloodied ID chip and tossed it into a bundle of cords on the floor, before cutting a strip of cloth from his sleeve and letting him wrap it around the wound.
My Thoughts:
This is a reread for me so these snippets don’t exactly hold any surprises but, I think the beginning really hooks you as to why is Missing Persons contacting Scarlet and really enjoy that Marissa Meyer has brought back Cinder’s mechanic skills in this 56.
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
I have been seeing these books around, but until now, had no clue what the retelling would reveal. Sounds fascinating! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
This is the second time I’ve seen Scarlet by Marissa Meyer today. I really enjoyed the book, but I haven’t gotten around to finishing the series yet.
I love this whole series! Happy weekend!
This is a popular one today. Sounds intriguing. Happy Reading!
One of these days I’m definitely going to read this series!
My Friday post features THE LIE THAT TELLS A TRUTH.
I’ve really got to get started on this series – thanks for visiting my Friday meme
I’ve read Cinder, but not Scarlet yet. Cinder was good, but a little out of my comfort area, so I’ve been slow to get to Scarlet. I do pan to read it sometime this year though. Glad to know you think it’s even better than Cinder. Thanks for sharing! Thanks, also, for visiting my blog! Happy reading!
