Libby Day was only eight years old when her family was brutally murdered in their rural Kansas farmhouse. Almost thirty years later, she reluctantly agrees to revisit the crime and uncovers the wrenching truths that led up to that tragic night.
Reviews Done Quick
Dark Places lives up to its name and is a dark film. The light, sets, and plot are all dark and eerie. However, and perhaps because of this, I found it difficult to keep my attention. The flashbacks to 1985, the time of the murders, were a little too haphazard and sloppy. Libby Day was so unlikeable that I had a hard time sympathizing or even caring about what happened to her. Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult gave stand-up performances if not a bit stilted. Overall, Dark Places was just okay but I don’t think I would have been missing out if I had scrolled past this movie.

Nice review, I had not heard of this before, but it sounds intense.
