Audiobook Review: Nothing Like I Imagined

Not every author can (or should) narrate their books but, I can’t imagine anyone but Mindy Kaling reading Mindy Kaling’s books. She is engaging and her witty insights are only enhanced by her reading them. I was disappointed that Nothing Like I Imagined was on the shorter side as it felt like the audiobook had […]

Book Review: Mrs March

Book Review: Mrs March

Posted May 19, 2022 by Whitney in Review / 2 Comments

What I Liked Mrs. March is told in a non-linear timeline. The reader is taken back to when Mrs. March first met her husband and back to the present day. However, the author never gives a specific decade in which the story occurs. Therefore, we are left to wonder, is it the 50s or 70s? […]

I loved this book when I was in 3rd grade. I thought poppycock was the greatest word ever invented and used it constantly. Mr. Fox and his lack of tail always made me laugh and held my breath when he became trapped in his home. Roald Dahl is a genius storyteller.

Audiobook Review: Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins

Reading Progress Reckless Girls is an interesting, modern-day take on Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. Review in bullet points: Rachel Hawkins takes care in the development of the goings-on on the island and like Lost each passenger has a unique backstory before they arrived on the island. I really liked this as it […]

The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom

The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom

Mini Review I read this for my book club with very low expectations, thinking it may be too spiritual or inspirational for me. Know my reading preference I was right. the five people you meet in heaven were a little too pull at the heartstrings for me and was trying too hard to mimic plot […]
