It has been a while since I have posted to the blog. Last year, I started a new job, life got busy and therefore reading and blogging took a back seat. At one point I debated giving up First Impressions Reviews altogether. However, I like my little space on the internet and decided to hang in there.
I spent the last few weeks of December organizing my blog as well as deciding what direction I wanted to take First Impressions Reviews in the next decade.
Blogging Goals
Make a blogging schedule and stick to it.
Blogging schedules give focus and structure, especially when life gets busy. In 2020, I plan to participate in three memes, Sunday Post, Fitreaders and My TBR List; I’ve always enjoyed participating in both these memes and will continue to do so in the coming year. As for book reviews, I’m aiming to write/post one or two reviews a week.
Limit weekly memes and challenges
I’ve mentioned the memes I plan to participate in above, but what about challenges? I started reading Reese Witherspoon’s book club selections and turned that into a personal, ongoing challenge and I will continue that in 2020. Audiobooks brought me back into reading at the end of 2019 and I decided the only other challenge I’ll be participating in is the Audiobook Challenge.
Read whatever I want.
Pretty self-explanatorily, don’t stress and read whatever genre or format I’m in the mood for.
I’m looking forward to the start of a new, fresh year in blogging and seeing where my reading will take me.
Snap! I felt the same about my blog — here’s hoping 🤞🏼 2020 is a better, more balanced year. Filled with loads of amazing book stuff 🥳
I’m glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. I think 2020 will be a better, more balanced year as well.
Glad to hear you are sticking with it!
Thanks!
I think it’s good to periodically reevaluate our goals.
I agree, it was almost therapeutic to reassess my blogging goals. I also thought it was a refreshing way to start the new year.
I am glad to see you blogging again! I understand about life getting in the way and blogging taking a backseat. Good luck with your goals this year! I hope you have a great 2020!
Thanks Wendy, it has been nice to give blogging a frontseat again. I didn’t realize how much I had missed it. I hope you have a great 2020 as well.
